Dominican University, Priory Auditorium - 12/2/2009 6:00pm
Graduate School of Social Work’s Student Association with support from the Office of Student Involvement, present a lecture from Rolf Gates, the master yoga teacher and a social worker, who will educate us about easy, practical, and highly effective yoga strategies! Yoga is a spiritual practice that helps with obtaining physical, energetic, and mental balance. These strategies will help maintain the sanity and peacefulness of mind, while dealing with the challenging and stressful situations of life. Rolf will introduce us to the aspects of yoga as an art of self-care and sustainability. This will help us learn the way to calm our minds, while getting through the end of the semester and introduce the ways to meeting life challenges with big smiles on our faces.
Please come and enjoy the lecture on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Priory Auditorium from 6 to 9 pm. The workshop is free of charge for Dominican University students and faculty and is $20 for off-campus guests. Bring a notebook and a pen to write notes if you’d like. **CAS 246 Conducts Fundraiser**
The Students of the Art Leadership class are working with HSP(Humanitarian Service Project) and helping them by conducting a food drive! Our goal is to raise 1,500 items by Nov. 30 and with your help, WE CAN DO IT! We are currently collecting canned and non-perishable items throughout campus. We currently have three drop-off locations in the Information Desk in Lewis Hall, Residence Check In in Coughlin, or by the elevators in Parmer Hall! If you are part of a school recognized organization or club, we have a little incentive. For the club/organization that contributes the most, they will be awarded 500 points for their help! (Make sure you put your items in a bag with your club/organization name on it so you can get the credit for it.)
Whether you have 1 or 20 items, every one counts! Come join the party and be a part of this great event!
If you have any questions on how you can help out, you can email me at gonzjoha@dom.edu.
