Special ProgramsThe five-year BA/MS in Education (Early Childhood Education) program accepts qualified Dominican University teacher education candidates. Under this program, these candidates may complete the Bachelor of Arts and the Master of Science in Early Childhood Education degrees with entitlement to a Type 04 certification in approximately five calendar years. During the undergraduate program, the candidate completes the required foundation courses and all credits toward the undergraduate degree. The remaining early childhood education courses will be taken at the graduate level during the summer, fall and spring of the following year. Students who wish to select this program must apply in their junior year. The Rose K Goedert Center for Early Childhood EducationThe Rose K Goedert Center for Early Childhool Education, directed by the School of Education, demonstrates Dominican University’s commitment to provide quality early childhood education to children two to six years of age. Programs at the center are open to children of Dominican University students, faculty and staff as well as the local community. The center reflects the university’s encouragement to parents with young children who wish to pursue their dreams of higher education. School of Education students have the opportunity to work in the center as instructional aides. |
