Faculty

At Dominican University, the student-to-faculty ratio of 12 to 1 assures individualized attention. Professors teach their own classes; there are no video lectures or teaching assistants. Faculty members have chosen to be at Dominican University because of the university’s commitment to excellent teaching. Close interaction between students and faculty helps students develop their specific interest while acquiring broad, general knowledge in their major.

Professors have work experience in their chosen field before becoming professors, and they continue to be active in current developments in research. In addition to teaching excellence, faculty members are known for publishing in their areas of expertise. They belong to professional associations and encourage students to join professional associations and attend meetings. One professor is the director of the American Dietetic Association Didactic Program in Dietetics.
