Nutrition and Dietetics majorNutrition and dietetics is the application of the scientific principles of nutrition to people’s lives. This major prepares graduates to be registered dieticians, licensed nutrition counselors, WIC (Women, Infant and Children) counselors, public health educators and other related positions. Food Science and Nutrition majorFood science and nutrition is the study of the nature and composition of foods. This major prepares graduates to work in the food industry in recipe and product development, quality assurance, food safety, food technologies and nutrition labeling. Food Industry Management majorFood industry management combines business and food. This major prepares graduates to work in supervisory capacities in the food industry in management and planning. Culinology majorCulinology merges culinary arts and science. Students complete a two-year associate culinary degree at another educational institution and come to Dominican to add two additional years in food science. Graduates primarily take positions as research chefs in the food industry. This program meets the Research Chefs of America guidelines for culinology. |
