Institutional Research at Dominican University

The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment serves as a resource to Dominican University in a variety of ways.

For example, the Office provides the following information:

  • Enrollment reports for summer, fall and spring terms
  • Student demographic information, including race, gender, age, and citizenship
  • Academic program information, including majors, credit hours, number of sections,     average class size, and degrees awarded
  • Student outcome data, such as graduation rates and retention rates
  • Student and alumni survey data
  • Aspirant group, peer group and benchmark data, including faculty salary data


  • In addition, the Office is responsible for:

  • Maintaining the University Database (“University Data”) on the intranet website
  • Administering SIRII faculty evaluations as well as faculty qualitative evaluations
  • Submitting annual state and federal reports, including IPEDS (Institutional Characteristics,     Completions, Enrollment, Employees by Assigned Position, Salaries, Graduation Rates,     Finance, Financial Aid), IBHE Program Inventory, and ISBE Title II Teacher Certification     Test Data and Report Card Information
  • Responding to annual directory requests, including U.S. News America’s Best Colleges     Survey, U.S. News Distance Education Survey, CGS/GRE Survey of Graduate Enrollment,     NCAA Graduation Rate Data, Peterson’s Directory, MDR College/University Administrator     Survey, Institute of International Education Study Abroad Survey, American Council on     Education American Universities and Colleges Survey, and ACT Graduate/Professional     School Data


  • The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment also responds to ad hoc requests for help and information from faculty, staff and students.
