Dominican’s student-to-faculty ratio of 12 to 1 assures individualized instruction. Small class size enables students to have more contact with their professors, inside and outside of class. Close interaction with lively faculty, who are active researchers and interested in current developments in their fields, helps the Dominican student develop individual interests while acquiring a broad knowledge of mathematics or mathematics and computer science.

At Dominican, professors teach their own classes; there are no video lectures or teaching assistants. Faculty members have chosen to teach at Dominican because of the university’s commitment to teaching. Professors in the mathematics and computer science majors hold advanced degrees from such prestigious institutions as Northwestern University, University of Maryland, Georgia Tech and Washington State University.
