Brief Biography:

Arvid C. Johnson is the Dean of the Brennan School of Business and a Professor of Management at Dominican University. Prior to joining Dominican as an Associate Professor of Management in September 2001, he was a principal in a management consulting firm and worked with companies ranging in size from startups to multi-million-dollar business units of Fortune 500 companies to describe, account for, explain, and exploit the variability present in their manufacturing and service processes. Arvid also has over 15 years of engineering, manufacturing, and management experience in a variety of business environments – including Northrop Grumman Corporation, Microwave Laboratories, and Varian Associates.  He also founded and served as the chair of Information Resources, Inc.’s Analytics Advisory Board from 2003-2008.

Arvid serves on the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Council on Economic Education (including its Executive Committee) and is a member of the Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Board of Education. He served as the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute’s Vice President of Planning and Development from 2007-2009, President-elect from 2009-10, and presently serves as President.

Arvid has published and spoken extensively in the areas of quantitative analysis, microwave materials processing and electron devices, and advanced manufacturing practices – and holds several U.S. and foreign patents. His teaching experience includes over 6 years with Keller Graduate School of Management – where he was a Senior Faculty Member.

Arvid and his family live in the far, far, far southwestern suburbs.
