Educational Philosophy:

A teacher is a guide/mentor in the learning process – not the source of the “answers.” While some answers may be “better” than others, it’s the process of getting to an answer through which much learning takes place. As Charles Handy has said:

"The real job of the teacher is to set the task which requires the search for the knowledge, to help the individual or group to seek it out, and to demonstrate how the knowledge can be used."

(Reference: Handy, The Hungry Spirit – Beyond Capitalism: A Quest for Purpose
in the Modern World
, New York: Broadway Books, 1998.)

In "real" terms, as originally developed by William, Christopher, and Stephen (and added to by their father):

1. Learning is supposed to be fun...so don’t be afraid to laugh!

2. There is always time to play...it clears the mind!

3. We learn by questioning...and should question what we’ve learned!
