In addition to teaching design at Dominican University, Bill is co-owner, with Weeks Ringle, of FunQuilts, a contemporary quilt design studio in Oak Park, Illinois. As artists they explore the question, "How can we make quilts that are expressive of our time?"

Their work has been featured in O:The Oprah Magazine, Metropolitan Home, TIME, The New York Times, Interior Design, Country Living, The Chicago Tribune, and dozens of other magazines and newspapers.

They have written and illustrated three books:The Modern Quilt Workshop, Quiltmaker's Color Workshop and Color Harmony for Quilts which was translated into French and German.

The more than 100 fabrics they designed for FreeSprit fabric company are sold in more than 13 countries. Their line of Many Hands Blankies are sold nationally and are made in Chicago by developmentally disabled adults.
