Course  Objectives: Students who successfully complete this course will:

- Gain a solid understanding of contemporary economic theory

- Be able to apply  the theory to real world situations

- Produce cogent written analysis 

- work well in group settings

 

 

Grading: Grades will be determined in the following manner:

                                      Midterm Exam        30%

                                      Final exam           40%          

Presentation/Paper                                     20%          

Class Participation/Reading Notes         10%         

 

 

 

                                       

         

 

 

Presentations

 

Each student will give a 15- 20 minute presentation on a topic of their choosing. The presentation must be an application of the material covered in class to a “ real world” situation. The materials used in the presentation must be turned in after the presentation is given. Demonstrating the ability to use Powerpoint effectively must be part of the presentation. Presentations will take place the first two weeks of  December. The schedule will be determined by the topics chosen. A brief description of your presentation is due  November 3rd
