Course  Objectives: Students who successfully complete this course will:

-         Work successfully in group settings

-         Produce cogent written analysis 

-         Think critically

-         Read more effectively

 

 

Grading: Grades will be determined in the following manner:

                                      Weekly Essays          60%

                                      Class participation     30%

                                      Common assignment  10%

                                               

 

 

 

 

Attendance: Students are expected to attend every class. Students absent from class with receive no credit for class participation, regardless  of the reason for their absence. Students who are present but do not contribute to the discussion will not receive any credit for class participation. Students will receive an evaluation of their participation on a weekly basis.

 

 

Weekly Essays: Students will be required to turn in a one page essay each week. The essay must be typewritten, doubled spaced, 12 pt. font. The essay question will be distributed on Tuesday and will be due the following Tuesday. With rare exceptions, late essays will not be accepted

 

 

Class Schedule: The specific class schedule will be distributed on a monthly basis, subject to change. The general course outline and overview will be part of the first class lecture.
