Chemical Information Links:

Chemspider - ChemSpider is a free access service providing a structure centric community for chemists. This source has SMILES, and InChI codes as well as a cool structure search feature.

Chemfinder - A quick and easy way to look up useful information on chemical compounds by name. You may have to register for the service at some point if you are a consistent user. It’s free.

Sigma-Aldrich Online Catalogue - useful information on a wide variety of commercial compounds. They also have safety information if you can understand their numbering/coding system. You may have to register if you want access to some information such as MSDS forms.

Hazardous Chemical Database – from University of Akron. Search safety information on common chemical compounds by name.

International Chemical Safety Cards: Abbreviated versions of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)

Abbreviated MSDS pages from “Experimental Organic Chemistry: A Miniscale & Microscale Approach. A “pdf” file with 270 pages.

Safety CLIPs (Chemistry Laboratory Information Profiles) from the ACS (American Chemical Society). Unfortunately, just a few chemicals are profiled to this date.

Organic Chemistry Database - Searching compounds if you know the melting/boiling point, molecular formula and/or molecular weight.

Chemical Land 21 – Alphabetical list of products.

Chem Exper Chemical Directory – Searchable database

J.T. Baker Chemical Company – Search their MSDS database
