Over the course of three years and several extended stays, the following images annotate the desire to understand, to seek acceptance and to examine purpose in a country, whose origin resembles one's own. In place of intimate knowledge, one negotiates the inevitability of emotional distance, despite familiarity with Italian language or customs.
