Law Club Presents: LSAT Practice Session
The DU Law Club will have its next LSAT practice session Monday, December 12. We will meet in Fine Arts 220 from 7:00-8:00 pm—starting and ending promptly.
We will work on one section of the LSAT. If you wish to participate in these sessions, you must test yourself on the section we are working on before you come to the session.
Pick up a copy this week of the section for December 12 from
the bookcase outside the office of Prof.

Scholarship
Fall 2006 REACh Scholarship Program
REACh is pleased to announce the “REACh Your Goals” Scholarship Program for the 2006 academic year. This program is designed to assist the growing number of adult learners who are returning to college. REACh scholarships may be used towards the cost of attendance at your institution as determined by the financial aid department.
To be eligible for the scholarship program, you must meet the following criteria:
The application is available at http://www.reach-chicago.org/scholarships/2006/info.htm
and must be postmarked no later than February 10, 2006. Incomplete applications
and those received after the deadline will not be considered. Up to five (5)
$1,000 scholarships will be awarded. If you are selected as a recipient, the
award payment will be made to your institution’s Office of Financial Aid in
August 2006. Recipients of the “REACh Your Goals” Scholarship Program will be
informed in writing by March 24, 2006, and will be invited to attend our annual
conference and awards presentation to be held in April.

LIBRARY WORKSHOP –
Tuesday, December 6th
The final
undergraduate library workshop for the Fall 2005 semester will be held on Tuesday
December 6 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM in Library 111. You must be
officially registered with the Registrar’s Office to attend this
workshop. If you are not registered to attend this session, but would
like register for this library workshop, please complete a drop/add form and
return it to the Registrar’s Office.
December Tuition Payments
The last payment for
the fall semester is due on Monday, December 5th. We will post
the $20 late fee to unpaid accounts on Friday, December 9th. You can
check your account balance on line with your PIN if you are unsure of the
balance.
Most accounts should
have a zero balance by December 5th. The MAP grants and some loans have
not arrived yet and we are taking that into consideration when
reviewing any outstanding accounts. It is important that all paperwork is completed
in Financial Aid for the loans to be disbursed to the school. Please
contact Student Accounts if you have any questions.
There will
be an information session for all students interested in attending the Florence
Study Abroad Program 2006.

World AIDS Day 2005

December 1,
recognized around the world as World AIDS Day, is a day to renew our commitment
to work to eliminate this disease, to help those living with and affected by
HIV/AIDS, and to remember those who have died from AIDS.
Stop by the table
in Lewis Alcove for a red ribbon The ribbon is a sign of your pledge
to help eradicate this disease by supporting policies that provide funding
for treatment of AIDS and research for a cure and to remember all who have been
affected by HIV/AIDS.
Purchase a Bear (1
for 10.00/2 for 15.00)--the proceeds will to help children in Africa affected
by HIV/AIDS.
Visit
the Hope and Remembrance Table in Rosary Chapel to pray for those
living with HIV/AIDS and those who have died from the disease.

Construction Update
Construction will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 30, converting the practice soccer field into a parking lot to accommodate the parking spaces being taken off-line during construction of the new parking garage and academic building over the next year. The new garage is scheduled to be opened in February of 2007. The field will then be restored during the following spring/summer.
Next week site preparation for the Thatcher access road will begin. The ground work for a construction vehicle only road will begin. The Thatcher access road will be open to the public for the fall semester of 2007. Site preparation for the new academic building, Parmer Hall, will begin sometime in early January.

White Paint Drive
Students for Peace and Justice is collecting white paint (any quantity), painting supplies, and donations for Port Ministry-a homeless shelter for families on the South Side of Chicago. Donations may be brought to the table in the Lewis Alcove on Thursday, December 1 from 10am-2pm or on Monday, December 5 from 10am-2pm. Donation boxes are also located at the Switchboard desk and the Coughlin Commons Resource Desk. Thank you for your generosity!

Drop-In Knitting Class
The fashion
program is sponsoring a drop-in knitting class that meets each Wednesday
evening from 7 to 9 in Science 217 (the sewing lab). All ability levels are
welcome—from beginner to advanced pattern design. Jessica Roble-Cinelli, a
Dominican graduate who specialized in art-to-wear knitting design, will be your
patient and knowledgeable instructor for the evening. The cost is $5 for two
hours of personalized instruction. Join us!

that your student accounts, both tuition and phone, MUST have
a zero balance to participate in the graduation ceremony and pick up your
diploma.
All orders will be sent directly to your home. Shipping costs are
included with the cost of the attire. All attire is yours to KEEP at the
completion of the ceremony.
Payment is due at
time of order. Jostens accepts cash, check, or credit card for orders
placed on campus. Orders taken by phone or on the Web require credit card
payment only. Web and phone orders will be accepted November 7 through
December16.
To ensure timely
delivery of attire absolutely no Web or phone orders will be accepted after
December 16.

Person's Retreat!
What is it? The Busy Person's Retreat is an on-campus, guided, personal, prayer
retreat designed to fit into your daily schedule. The directors are
spiritual directors from around the Chicago area who come to Dominican to meet
with you at a time convenient for you.
Who is it for? Any student, faculty or staff of Dominican University
When is it? Each day for 4 days (December 5-8) you will meet for 30
minutes with director who will provide you with a scripture passage for your
personal reflection. There is a brief orientation meeting after the 7:00 pm
liturgy on December 4. (If you can not make that meeting, you can pick up your
booklet and room assignment on Monday.)
Where is it? A meeting place on campus will be provided at the time that you
need.
The retreat is free and is sponsored by the Archdiocesan
University/Campus Ministry Office.
