Background

Sarah Hess was born and raised on the north side of Chicago.  She discovered art at an early age.  She attended classes at Marwen during her years in grade school and high school.  She became interested in photography, while in high school, after her father gave her an old camera.  She went on to study photography and fine art at Wilbur Wright College and at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Sarah often works with mixed media, often incorporating the following: oil painting, photography, video & audio, found objects & organic materials, and installation. Sarah recently graduated from Dominican University with a B.A. in History, with a focus on education. She is certified to teach both art and the social sciences.
